About Us

Luz-Elena Valencia, D.D.S.

Dr. Luz-Elena Valencia is originally from Colombia, South America. A graduate of Indiana University School of Dentistry, she began practicing in Greenwood shortly after her graduation in 1992. In 2011, her practice was given the honor of “Best of Greenwood” by the U.S. Commerce Association.

In addition to running her practice, Dr. Valencia is currently the treasurer of the Southside Study Club. Dr. Valencia is also dedicated to continuing her education, usually completing more than the required amount of classes each year. She has completed courses on aesthetic dentistry, implants, oral pathology, dental emergencies, ethics, practice management, and Invisalign, among others.

As an immigrant, Dr. Valencia knows what it is like to transition from one culture to another. Her experience has taught her to be more sensitive towards different cultures and nationalities. She believes in treating patients the way that she would like to be treated. She aims to provide the best professional dental care possible by establishing and addressing each patient’s individual needs. Dr. Valencia loves having the opportunity to see how her patients become more confident after receiving their new smiles.

When not perfecting your smile, Dr. Valencia enjoys spending as much time as possible with her family. She has three sons. Her oldest son graduated from dental school (IUSD) in 2015 and opened his own practice. Her middle son graduated from Purdue University in 2016 and moved to Georgia to work as an aeronautical engineer. Her youngest is at Marion University studying nursing. She also has two beautiful grand-daughters. Together, Dr. Valencia and her family enjoy traveling, snorkeling, and skiing.

Carrie Foster – Financial Coordinator

183_CarrieI am a financial coordinator in this practice. I have been with Dr. Valencia for over 10 years. I also have experience as a dental assistant.

I have been married to my high school sweetheart for over 16 years, and I have 3 beautiful girls. I love working out and traveling. The best thing about working in this office is all the wonderful people I get to see every day!

Rafael Hamana, Expanded duties dental assistant

rafaelI have been with the office since 2005.

I always say my family is from the United Nations. I came from a random mix of cultures: Chinese, Lebanese, Spaniard, and Venezuelan. I have one brother and one sister. I am the oldest of us three with my sister being the youngest. I like to travel; it is something that brings me joy and makes me more knowledgeable about different cultures. I love the beach, hiking, dancing, and entertaining my friends every weekend.

I enjoy being a part of this office because its an amazing environment, organized, and a wonderful way we treat our patients. I contribute to this office by the knowledge that I have had for the past 13 years of practicing dentistry. I bring good humor and provide high quality in everything I do.

I dedicate my gift/talent to the church. In my spare time I have been directing the living way of the cross for 7 years, in the Eucharistic Ministry teaching Catechism classes to teens and RCIA program. I have been enrolled in a spiritual direction program in the Archdioceses of Indianapolis for the past two years.

Elizabeth Rubalcava, Expanded duties dental Assistant

For 14 years, Elizabeth has been providing quality care and dedication to each one of our patients. Every day, Elizabeth puts all of her effort into her job. She loves working here and being able to help people achieve good oral health and beautiful smiles.

Elizabeth is married and has two daughters. In her spare time, she loves to read. Being a very active person, she also enjoys working out.

Victoria McQueen, Dental Hygienist
My name is Victoria McQueen. I am a dental hygienist. I have been with Dr. Valencia’s practice since August 2013. I have a degree in Psychology and I worked for a research lab at IUPUI for 10 years before going to school and completing my dental hygiene requirements at IU Dental School. I graduated in May 2013 and have been enjoying my new career.

My husband Steve and I have been married for over 15 years, and we have a beautiful daughter named Lucy, who is 10 years old. We also have a rescue dog named Shiba, a Shiba Inu mix, and an orange tabby cat named Tiger. We love traveling, watching movies and plays, and spending time with our friends and family. I really enjoy providing quality dental care and working as part of such a fantastic team. I am committed to lifelong learning, and have been “brushing up” on my Spanish to better serve our clients. I am delighted to meet our long-time patients and excited to introduce our new patients to the practice.

Debra Lemmons, Dental Hygienist

I am the newest addition to the practice. In 2011, I graduated from Indiana University School of Dentistry as a dental hygienist. Prior to this, I was a dental assistant for over 20 years. As a long-time Greenwood resident, I am dedicated to the health care profession and serving my community by keeping smiles bright and happy.

I have an adult daughter and two beautiful granddaughters who are the light of my life! Attending their softball games keeps me busy in the summer evenings. I am in a committed relationship with a man who shares my passion for salsa dancing and scuba diving.
